Taken fro.the water waterNSW website: The gates were inspired by the popularity of all things Egyptian following the discovery of King Tutankhamun's tomb in 1922. Construction of Cordeaux Dam started in 1918 and was completed in 1926.
The dam itself can be seen at the end of the walkway. Below also some young gum trees and bushland.
